NUNOGI Three-Tiered Box
NUNOGI Three-Tiered Box
A versatile stacking box that can be used to serve sweets on each tier, or to store small items with care and elegance. Whether placed on a dining table or in a living space, its structured form and stately presence elevate the atmosphere of any setting.
NUNOGI Collection
Unlike traditional lacquerware, which is meticulously polished to a high gloss, the NUNOGI collection highlights an earlier stage of the craft—where linen cloth, soaked in lacquer, is applied to reinforce the wooden base. In conventional practice, this cloth layer is smoothed over and concealed beneath layers of lacquer. However, in the NUNOGI technique, the cloth is intentionally left visible, preserving the raw textures of both fabric and wood.
This approach reveals a quiet beauty in imperfection—earthy yet delicate, structured yet spontaneous. The exterior retains the tactile texture of the linen, while the interior is coated in black lacquer for durability and contrast. Each piece reflects the warmth and lightness of natural wood, shaped into a singular expression that invites both use and contemplation.
